Churchyard redevelopment project

 

The graveyard at the east of the church (next to Baillies Walk, the path leading to the allotments) has been neglected.  St Mary's has initiated a project to redevelop this area.

On June 28 we held an open day to consult with the community to find out which of the ideas below should be the priorities in use of this area.

  • Educational resource for children
  • Beautiful space amidst plants and wildlife
  • Place to sit down for quiet reflection
  • Opportunity to grow food (e.g. orchard)
  • Garden of Remembrance for loved ones

After the survey closes on July 11 we will be working with our consultants Groundwork to develop a scheme and apply for a grant.
